This is a glorious conifer tree that grows along the west coast of the united states. It scientific name is Tsuga heterophylla- meaning "of different size leaves." The "leaves" or needles have 3 distinct sizes and are fairly small...well, how about you watch to learn and let the video do the explaining.
Its one of the main host trees for mycorrhizal mushrooms here in the Northwest, so if you're looking for good mushrooms you need to look for this one!
