In this video the creator of Mushroom Wonderland, avid outdoorsman, and Vice President of the Kitsap Peninsula Mycological Society takes us on a fully immersive ASMR type hike into the south east Olympic Mountains to the Flapjack Lakes. An 18+ mi round trip hike up the North Fork of the Skokomish River, AKA 'the staircase,' which climbs high into the mountains of the beautiful and misty Pacific Northwest.
Along the way we will Identify several of the more common species of mushrooms you may encounter on a summer hike in the PNW. Also we will talk a little bit about some of the more interesting plants along the way, as well as how to tell the age of an old growth Douglas-fir tree.
The major difference in this video from most of the other videos that ytoull find on this channel is the amazing ASMR forest scenery and the absolute beauty of the river and the ancient old-growth forest.
Kick back and relax and check out this hike and make sure to subscribe to Mushroom Wonderland, hit that notification bell, give us a thumbs up, and leave a positive comment- we usually respond back.
