Ryobi Brushless Jigsaw - The Ryobi 18-Volt Brushless Jigsaw Review ( Model P524 ) is currently available at The Home Depot.  If you are in the Ryobi 18-volt battery line, this is a nice upgraded tool that will get more power from the Ryobi HP batteries that are currently available in 6.0 and 9.0 Ah.

There have been a lot of jigsaws released recently, including a new Milwaukee FUEL M18 model and the Ridgid Octane model that are very similar to the Ryobi model.  All three of these models share a lot of the same specs and features but differ in the smaller items.  Ridgid and Ryobi negotiated a lock on button, Ridgid has a line starting feature while Milwaukee received the adjustable dust blower and better dust collection.  There is obviously a cost difference between the three, but all of them seem to provide outstanding power.  The Ridgid and Ryobi state they need to ungraded batteries made for Brushless tools to provide the greater power while Milwaukee does not.

We learned of the new Ryobi Brushless Jigsaw after we had already received the Ridgid Gen5X Octane Jigsaw and the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Jigsaw kit.  All of these tools are similar in the strokes per minute of 0-3,500 spm and 1" stroke.  The Ryobi and Ridgid models have a constant non-adjustable dust blower that would battle with a dust collection while in use but works well in a stand-alone use.  The 4-position orbital action lever a huge plus when working with different types of materials and different cut qualities needed.  Speed is one of the benefits of the orbital action and couple that with the torque of the Ryobi Jigsaw and one can cut some large material pretty fast.  The bevel adjustment is tool free and the blade attachment has a spring release to help shoot hot blades out of the jigsaw.
