Another Phi Psi veteran of the famed
82nd Airborne Division, cited for its
gallantry in the invasion of Sicily, at
Salerno and its outstanding record in
the liberation of France, Lt. Roper R.
Peddicord, Ind. Alpha '41, was killed
in action June 7, 1944, D-Day plus 1,
according to word received by his parents, Attorney and Mrs. Roscoe R. Peddicord of Hobart, Ind. To them, as mute
evidence of their son's heroism on the
fields of battle, have come the silver
Star and Purple Heart medals, both
awarded posthumously
