A local cheerleading club is gearing up for a special event in Orlando, Florida on April 19-21 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Peak Elite Cheerleading’s tumbling team called Everest is heading to the World Cheerleading Championships. The event features hundreds of teams in more than 20 divisions. Samantha Paradee, the gym owner and head coach of Peak Elite Cheerleading says the team is excited to head down to try to win the big prize.

The Everest team was awarded an At Large Bid at the Cold Snap Competition in Edmonton on January 22. Teams from across Western Canada compete at the event, vying for a top spot at Worlds.

Up next for the team is the Imagine Cheer and Dance Championships in Calgary from February 4-5.
