DIY Tiny House A-Frame Cabin Project Disaster Averted

In this segment I talk about a couple of the many challenges I overcame when building a 2-level, 110-square-foot “off-grid” tiny house / A-frame cabin in my backyard. You’ll hear the story of how my 85-year-old dad played a critical role “encouraging” me to seriously consider the safety risks involved with this DIY construction project. You’ll also get a glimpse at how I constructed the rolling mobile platform / foundation for the cabin, framed the walls in my garage, insulated the floor, and added storage compartments with faux antique produce crates into the floor for support.

This tiny cabin is the start of what I hope to further develop into a self-sufficient backyard homestead, including a sustenance / survival garden, as well as composting and rainwater collection systems... Maybe a chicken coop and bees too –– because you can never be too prepared.
