The new DEWALT 20-Volt XR Brushless 8″ Cordless Pole Saw, DCPS620, is 10 feet long and listed of having a maximum reach of 15 feet because of the height of the person using it. The brushless motor design has a directional motor exhaust for blowing wood chips away from the user, but since you are under this many times, you can still see some chips fall your way. Other items to note are a rubber hand grip, auto-oiling mechanism, and inline motor for increased cutting visibility.

The specs say the chain is 0.043 in. and with a 3/8″ pitch. Chain speed is 6.5 mps. The pole saw weighs 8.4 lbs and maximum pole length is 10 feet. Price: $149 for the bare tool (DCPS620B)

The new DEWALT cordless pole saw looks similar to the new Craftsman V20 model (CMCCSP20), but the build quality is much better on the DEWALT. The DEWALT branch hook is metal while the Craftsman is plastic. The Dewalt also features a brushless motor, and the Craftsman has a brushed motor.

The DEWALT is priced slightly higher but is worth the extra cost if you are in the DEWALT battery line already. The CRAFTSMAN pole saw is also nice for its price point at $149 with a battery. People have also been talking about the end of the year sales, so that might be able to be purchased on sale for less.
