Chauvin Appeal Argued!

On Wednesday, January 18 the Minnesota Court of Appeals heard oral argument on Derek Chauvin's appeal from his conviction in the death of George Floyd. Chauvin was convicted in Minnesota state court of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter (note that all of these are unintentional forms of unlawful killing, what most states would refer to as "felony murder" or "involuntary manslaughter" rather than "murder").

Today's show will essentially be a response the video of that oral argument, with contextual explanation for why appeals are for losers, how they work, and why it's unlikely that Chauvin will obtain any meaningful relief in this case.
