Deny the Flesh and Live For Eternity

Ever wonder how to deal with people you would like to strangle?
What does it mean to deny the flesh? Don't smoke, drink, or chew?

Romans 1:28–29 and Galatians 5:21-23 give us a list of 17 fleshy sins. We are all going continue to commit these as long as were in the flesh due to our fallen nature?

But I want to talk about your mindset, your attitude towards sin.

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

The works of the flesh are the things human beings naturally tend toward that are contrary to God’s design for us.

Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

One aspect of denying the flesh has to be your mindset? The way you treat other people?

Ever have something happen where you just want to go off on someone? That's always the flesh wrapped up in pride.

This is what you need to remember about how you relate to others when you want to go off?

The demonic host will always hurry you they will push you into a rush? I'm going to go confront them right now? Sense of urgency?

The Holy Spirit on the other hand calms you, and will guide you.

You will not want to confront the other person but the Holy Spirit will keep nudging you to move forward to follow Him.
