DEWALT's FlexVolt line of tools, considered DEWALT's Premium and most powerful tools, are getting more powerful.   The DEWALT FlexVolt 60V Brushless Reciprocating Saw is now model DCS389 and providing up to 19% more power than the DCS388 60V reciprocating saw with 1874 unit watts out.  The new DCS389 has similar spec to the DCS 388 with a no-load speed of 3000 SPM, an 1-1/8 in. stroke length, Variable-speed trigger, and a super bright LED light over the blade.

DEWALT changed to the game in 2016 when they announced the FlexVolt line, working to create the most powerful tools on the market.  Many of the FlexVolt tools are considered to be more powerful than corded models.  While the FlexVolt line keeps growing, DEWALT is also concentrating on bringing more technology and upgrading the current tools when available.  This Reciprocating saw, Model DCS389, is one of three tools that are being upgraded with more efficient motors able to produce more power and better results on the jobsite.

Bring In The Heavy

If you are looking seriously at buying the updated DEWALT Flexvolt Reciprocating Saw, you probably desire more power and speed from your cuts.  In my opinion, if you are thinking that you want the biggest and most badass saw to prune trees, look somewhere else as this is way more power than what is needed for that work.  This saw was built for the construction site where everyone demands quick and powerful cuts through some of the toughest materials around. The jobsite demands power that lasts for days and a saw that gives them everything possible. When you need that kind of power, you won't care about the weight.

If they don't need the power, there are other tool options. We will be working with the Power Detect 20-volt reciprocating saw in the near future.  That is a saw that will be lighter but still have a lot of power.
