Ryobi has a new 40-Volt Brushless 16″ Chain Saw coming this spring that should retail for around $249. Ryobi’s NEW battery-powered 40-Volt chain saw has a 16" bar and chain to fit the more powerful brushless motor. Ryobi's Brushless motor and electronics have load sensing technology to help keep the chain speed consistent even under load. Other items that come standard on this saw, and others in this size, is an adjustable automatic oiler to give the user some adjustability to the amount of oil the bar and chain receive and a mechanical and electric chain brake.

Our kit came with a 40-Volt 4Ah battery, charger, and the saw. If you plan to purchase this saw, remember to buy bar and chain oil as the saw does not come with any.

Our testing of runtime with the included 4Ah battery was not overly impressive. There was no doubt the saw performed much better with a 5Ah battery was also had around. There is something wrong with our number of cuts in testing as there should not be such a difference in the results, but in the cold, those were the numbers.

The new Ryobi 16" chain saw is not the most powerful battery-operated saw on the market. It is, however, a very impressive saw for the price. Price on this model beats almost if not every other kitted chain saw on the market.

We strongly feel that for most homeowners and DIY'ers will absolutely be impressed with the performance of this new saw. The saw is priced perfectly for anyone who needs a saw but only uses it occasionally.
