Since the announcement of the Defender wireless controller from Retro Fighters for the PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3, one of the most common questions I get is whether or not it is compatible with Sixaxis control. While the original one was not, they have just announced a new Bluetooth edition which absolutely is! Let's take a closer look.

From the Retro Fighters website, it indicates that the Defender Bluetooth Edition is compatible with the PS3, PS4, and PC via a USB cable and will be available in both black and white. It is not compatible with the PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Classic, or Nintendo Switch. For those systems, Retro Fighters recommens utilizing the original Defender.

With built-in native wireless Bluetooth connectivity, you can utilize your PlayStation 3 and PS4 to get ready to experience your favorite games like never before. Featuring a wireless range of over 30 ft and an over 10-hour battery life, you can definitely do some serious playing with this. It features the same benefits as the standard Edition Defender, including the ergonomic shape, comfortable and responsive analog sticks, vibration feedback, and turbo.

The big difference maker on this version is the fact that they have added Sixaxis motion control capability to the Defender Bluetooth edition. As a bonus you can also play your favorite games on PC, you'll just need to connect the controller to your computer via the included USB-C cable.

We love the defender And it is our primary PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 controller now. With the defender Bluetooth edition, we plan on utilizing that primarily for our PlayStation 3. What do you think of this? Is this something you have been waiting for? Is this something you will add to your collection? Let us know down in the comments.
