LS Swap Cooling System Fix and Electric Fans Upgrade

Hola Mah*****'s

We're working on the Bronco today !
I have some issues with the cooling system. Mainly an at idle temperature rise. If left un attended it will rise to over 220 deg.
I'm going to re route the expansion tank hoses. On an Ls you can't just run the hose to the heater core ports on the water pump. Trust me, That's what I did when I built my own Tank. It needs to either tee into the heater core port return when a heater core is installed or, if one is not, it must go into the lower radiator hose and you have to install the loop on the water pump. The other option is to drill a hole between the 2 ports for the heater core where the thermostat is.
For the electric fans.....well my old ones were about to give up the ghost. So I decided to run some 2000 Ford Windstar fans.

This should help get my at idle temps more inline to where they should be.

This article has a ton of very useful knowledge. In fact it's where I got my original idea of running my expansion tank into the heater port. Unfortunately what is not noted is where it shows the water pump going to the heater core on the first digram, that's where we need the loop if we're not running a heater core. That's because we need the thermostat to see the hot water on the engine side to open properly at idle or low rpm speeds.
So, a loop or a hole must be drilled.
