There was a huge public outcry for her release, even some saying she was detained illegally. At the same time, Griner was in a Russian penal colony, #SaraKrivanek from California was also detained in the same penal colony on assault charges for defending herself against her ex-boyfriend who violently attacked her. Where were Joe Biden and the White House? Where were domestic violence, advocacy groups? Why was there no push to get her released?
