Paul is discussing the fact that the resurrected Lord Jesus ascended and as he prepares to discuss the 'gifts' He gave after ascending, he inserts these comments about how that He also DESCENDED into the lower parts of the earth.
These comments cause considerable confusion and questions in the minds of those not familiar with the whole of Scripture on this subject, so we take a close look at what we find in the word of God regarding the descent of Jesus into Hell and Paradise (Abraham's bosom).
