Smaller communities in danger of losing local news outlets

23ABC's parent company Scripps has once again teamed up with the News Literacy Project to shine a light on better information consumption and sharing during News Literacy Week. Around 7 percent of counties in our country don't have a local news outlet, and around 20 percent are at risk of their communities becoming news deserts in the future. Non-profit news sources are stepping in to fill the voids.
