AFP cites Dariush Mozaffarian,
Tufts University...
'seed oils are healthy for humans...'
Dr Saladino
"We get no opportunity to discuss it"
-Instagram will censor it
-No chance to discuss pros & cons
"Plenty of evidence that seed oils
will increase risk of cardiovascular
disease

Study
Effects of Oleate and Linoleate rich
diets on LDL oxidation...
Group 1: olive oil [oleic acid]
Group 2: seed oil [linoleic acid]
"If LDL is oxidized, risk of heart
problems [atherosclerosis] goes up"
-macrophages don't take up native
LDL
-they ONLY INGEST OXIDIZED LDL

8 week randomized, control study...
Findings
"LDL oxidation is altered by PUFAs
Adding monounsaturated [olive oil]
if preferable"
-oleic acid group LESS SUSEPTIBLE
to LDL OXIDATION
"More polyunsaturated fats =
more likely for LDL to oxidize

Another randomized, control study...
37 healthy women:
saturated fat down 28 to 20g
polyunsaturated fat up 11 to 13 or 19g
Finding
oxidized LDL went up
increased by 27% & 19%
LPa concentration up 7% & 9%
"Solid Evidence:
increasing PUFA; decreasing sat fat
CAUSES MORE OXIDIZED LDL"
