John was born to get people ready for Jesus! An angel told Zechariah that his wife Elizabeth would have a son and they were to name him John. Zechariah did not believe because he thought they were too old to have children. But when Zechariah believed God’s Word, he praised God. Zechariah’s son, John, was born to get people ready for Jesus. People would praise God for keeping His promise to send the Savior. Remember to practice our key passage at home: John 1:1-2, “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God.”
