Morning whitefish Fishing Door County

Fishing whitefish on 1-18-17 Wednesday on Riley’s Bay, 30’ feet of water about 37 degrees and a bit windy, there was about 3” of water on the ice, but there was 20” of solid ice below our feet. I was fishing with my son-in-law and his friend John; they are who I am hollering to in the video. Our first line was in the water about 9:30 and we closed up shop and headed for shore at 3:15 in the afternoon. I got to see a terrific Muskie, and yes it is in the video. I caught about eight fish and kept four nice ones, Ben and John each caught nine and kept eight each. I have a small nose weighted minnow jig (somewhat like a Rapala Jigging Rap) with a section of minnow on the bottom of it, and two swivels above, each are about a 10” up from one another with a small #12 treble hook between the swivels with wax worms.
