WHY THE MOVIES ARE WRONG ABOUT ELEVATOR CRASHES
This video intends to look at the safety equipment & engineering that goes into elevators to make them function safely. From there we can go on to look at why the movies are wrong about elevator crashes. Oftentimes, movies depict elevator cars plummeting to the ground, creating a dystopian fear in the mind of viewers. Despite films depicting elevator accidents soo frequently, the likelihood of one occurring is very slim due to the extreme engineering which goes into elevators meaning this is near impossible. The thing is, elevator free-falls are an obvious risk & for this reason designers and engineers do all that they can to make these types of events near impossible. Whilst there may be clips online showing elevators freefalling, these events only occur where saftey standards are not appropriate. Most countries have rules and regulations which would stop these events from being possible.
