My opinions on the Steven Crowder vs Daily Wire controversy: Why we should stop infighting

Within the past few days Steven Crowder has expressed his concerns with a contract he was presented by the daily wire. This has sparked lots of controversy and infighting within conservative political discourse. The contract stated that he would be making $50 mil in 4 years so long as he makes at least 192 episodes per year and give them the right to cut his funding if he fails to reach the contracts expectations. He then claimed it was unjust as the contract depends upon his presence on big tech platforms to make a profit which concedes to their censorious platform for them to make a positive return on investment. I believe the contract is bad based on this premise alone, as nobody should sign a contract to potentially lose money if you don’t adhere to what tech overlords deem to be appropriate for their platform. However, the daily wire is a business and it makes it counterintuitive to attempt to sign a huge contract to someone while not attempting to make a return on investment which coincides receiving ad revenue on these platforms. I believe some aspects of the daily wire are out of touch with what the right wants as it pertains to opposing big tech leniency in all facets since they’re primarily focused on profit.

Their contracts seem sketchy and I personally wouldn’t sign a contract as it would cause my brand to be controlled by their influence more than I would like. However, the imperfections of this company’s business contracting does not mean they’re “sellouts”, they’re just not the best company to commit to. People should be more focused on creating their own company to compete with the daily wire as opposed to boycotting or ridiculing them over one error. They are still transparent about the details within the contract and still should be supported as a company, considering their work is still changing the cultural landscape of this country in a substantial capacity. Everybody is worthy of criticism and we should be averse to the daily wires contracts to avoid centralization of right wing political figures being controlled by one entity.

My overall opinion is that people are taking this too seriously and the infighting is particularly disadvantageous and does nothing positive to our conservative movement. Steven Crowder overreacted and should’ve understood the nature of business when embarking upon this contract. They need to have a conversation together to mitigate the division this is causing and accept that the daily wire does not have malicious intent, rather they’re imperfect but still very powerful as a political force and should be supported to win the culture war.
