Cristiano Ronaldo makes WINNING START at Al Nassr in 1-0 victory over Ettifaq

Cristiano Ronaldo made a victorious start to his time at Al Nassr, as 'The Knights of Najd' beat visitors Ettifaq 1-0 on Sunday to move to the top of the Roshn Saudi League standings.

Ronaldo went close to marking his club debut with a goal, but Abdulmajeed Al Sulaiheem's 31st-minute cross narrowly eluded the Portuguese's attempted header, although team-mate Anderson Talisca was perfectly placed to nod in the winner.

Al Nassr's new captain played a part in several promising attacks as his wife Georgina Rodriguez watched from the stands, but the 37-year-old was unable to get the better of the Ettifaq defence and goalkeeper Paulo Victor.
