She was considered seriously as a presidential candidate based on her femininity, and the fact that she a female politician, so that is why people wanted her to be president, purely based on the fact she is a woman! However, this clip from 1996 proves that she is unfit to be president, and sure she apologized, but that doesn't change the fact she said this which most likely means she believes this.
