Sen. Manchin says lack of debt ceiling debate is a mistake

The United States officially hit the debt ceiling. The Treasury Department will now need to take drastic measures to keep the government on track to pay its bills.

"I think it's a mistake because we have to negotiate. This is a democracy, we have a two-party system if you will, and we should be able to talk and find where our differences are,” said Sen. Joe Manchin.
