This painting depicts the Kurousuke Inari shrine in the Yoshiwara brothel.
The present-day Yoshiwara Shrine enshrines Gentoku Inari Shrine, as well as Enomoto Inari Shrine, Akashi Inari Shrine, Kaiun Inari Shrine, Kuro-suke Inari Shrine, and Yoshiwara Benzaiten, the guardian deities of the four corners of the brothel.
Kurousuke Inari Shrine is particularly old and was popular among prostitutes of the Yoshiwara brothels.
