Historical Artist Mark Maritato’s painting “Fallen Timbers” illustrates the moment in the battle of Fallen Timbers, Tennessee when Lieutenant Colonel Nathan Bedford Forrest led a headlong attack of his Cavalry troop into the line of the 77th Ohio Volunteer infantry. The battle of Fallen Timbers was fought on April 8, 1862 as the final series of actions that ended the battle of Shiloh.
