Over 2,000 years ago God the Father sent His Only Begotten (John 3:16) virgin born Son (Isaiah 7:14) The Lord Jesus Christ to die for the sins of the world (1John 4:9). All human beings are sinners because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and sin is the reason why death is in the world (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12) The Lord Jesus is fully God and fully man (1Timothy 3:16) yet without sin, He did no sin (1Peter 2:22) He knew no sin (2Corinthians 5:21) and in Him is no sin (1John 3:5) which makes the Lord Jesus the only One qualified in creation to die for the sins of the world (Acts 4:12; Isaiah 42:21) This means religious duties, church going and good works and deeds will not save you (Titus 3:5) living a decent moral ethical life will not save you (Ephesians 2:8) Water baptism, Lord's supper or other codes of conduct will not save you (1Corinthians 1:17) The Bible says specifically and exclusively that in order to be saved from your sins you must believe that Christ died for your sins and rose again the third day for the salvation of your soul (1Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 10:9) and at that moment you will be given the Holy Spirit immediately upon your faith and trust in the finished cross work of the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:13-14) this changes the nature of your soul (2Corinthians 5:17) not the nature of your spirit and your flesh (Romans 6:19).
As a saved person in this finite body of flesh God will not change the nature of your flesh or give you new desires unless you want to change your flesh and yield your desires towards obedience to the word of God in this life. As an obedient saved person or a disobedient saved person what YOU do has no bearing on your salvation after you are saved because the Lord Jesus had already paid the complete sin debt. We are not to use the grace of God as a license to sin (Romans 6:1-2) rather the grace of God teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and that we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world (Titus 2:10) so unless we "choose" to obey and use our "volition" and "free will" to yield to the word of God (Romans 6:13) there is no way God can work in our lives (2Corinthians 10:5; Ephesians 4:30)
1. Salvation is believing the gospel of Christ.
2. Sanctification is living the life Christ wants us to live after we are saved.
Instructions from the word of God when saved people sin:
(1 John 1:8 KJV) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(1 John 1:9 KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(1 John 1:10 KJV) If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
This does not mean "get saved again" this means get your relationship with God fixed.
If you are saved:
Romans 6:13 (KJV) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
If you're not saved:
Romans 10:9 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Here are the lyrics:
Long ago I saw my Saviour
Bearing shame upon a tree;
Then my heart was touched with sorrow,
For I saw He bled for me.
Refrain:
"It is finished," loud He cried;
O what love— for me He died.
In my stead He bled on Calvary;
Once for all Christ rescued me.
Lo, the sky was veiled in darkness;
Sudden trembling shook the ground
As the angry crowd was jeering,
Mocking Jesus all around.
Refrain
Then my Saviour called to heaven
As I saw His love anew,
"O my Father, please forgive them,
For they know not what they do."
Refrain
Free salvation now he offers;
Take His gift, O hear His plea;
On the bloody cross behold Him,
Join His shout of victory.
Refrain
