SEARCHED at HOOVER DAM and Visited COUNT'S KUSTOMS in One Day! A Jeep Cherokee XJ Adventure!

Today on our epic overland expedition we stopped at Hoover Dam and had our cargo searched! NO KIDDING! Later in the day, we visited Count’s Kustoms in Las Vegas; and even spent time in the Mohave Desert! What a day!

In November of 2022, we decided to take our 99 Jeep Cherokee XJ for a Cross Country Overland Adventure. We loaded our Cherokee XJ with tent, folding camping cots, grill, blankets, sleeping bags, and extra gasoline! At a truck stop after filling up with gas, we drove on the scales to see how much we weighed; the ticket revealed we were at 5200 pounds; we were ready for anything!

We spent 31 days driving in 18 states, and put on over 8500 miles! Come along for the ride; we think you will enjoy it!

Today we left Kingman, Arizona and headed west to Nevada, then on to California. Our first stop was to see the Hoover Dam. When we got to the check point, a security guard wanted to see what was in the storage bin on top of the Jeep XJ.

Of course, I would comply; but the bin was quite securely strapped down and getting everything undone, took considerable time! It contained extra blankets, sleeping bag and pillows; not very dangerous indeed!

After an amazing look at the Hoover Dam and the shrinking Lake Mead; we headed to Las Vegas to find the hospital the Sherri was born it! FOUND IT!

After that we visited Count’s Kustoms and took the tour; what an amazing place! Finally, we took a short detour out into the Mohave Desert; amazingly beautiful place for sure!
