Campfire Tales - The Old Ways Of First Nations

How long ago was it when people in Canada truly lived off the land? Listening to my wife, you'll find it wasn't very long ago. From hearing how things were, you might develop a greater appreciation for how tough and resilient Dene Tha people were back then - before the days of automobiles, snowmobiles, electricity and running water, living year-round in the northern expanses of Alberta.

In this video, while on our trapline sitting around the fire, I decided to plant a video camera on a snow bank, hit 'record' and just let her relate stories like she always has for our past 47 years together. I have posted this because I think some of you may find it interesting (let me know if you do - in which case I may do this again sometime).

Among the topics discussed are trapping, hunting, making dried meat, canning, residential school, beading and native crafts.
