Asking for help. Man do I struggle with that, even now. I was always the type of person to do it on my own. Why bother someone else with your problem? Figure it out, and get it done. That was my mentality. I looked at every helping hand as a sign of weakness. A sign that I wasn't good enough, that I couldn't do it on my own. Time and time again I would shun every oportunity, believing I needed to get there by myself. The truth is, life is hard enough on its own. You don't have to make it harder on yourself. Graciously accept help when it's offered. Give help even more. You will go so much farther in life and be able to pay it forward 10x more. Can you make it on your own? Yes. Will there be times when nobody is in your corner and you will have to grit your teeth and just get it done? Yes. But when people want to help, when they believe in you, don't be the one to get in your own way and stop that.
