Canada: Transport Minister Omar announces support for commercial space launches in Canada – January 20, 2023

At a news conference in Longueuil, Que., Omar Alghabra, the federal minister of transport, announces the federal government’s intention to support commercial space launch activities in Canada that are safe, secure and environmentally sustainable. He is joined by Annie Koutrakis, his parliamentary secretary; Marc Garneau, MP for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce-Westmount; Lisa Campbell, president of the Canadian Space Agency; David Saint-Jacques, Canadian astronaut; Brian Gallant, CEO of Space Canada; and Mike Mueller, CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada.
