Original description:
Coming in at 5.6 pounds with a total length of 32” when extended, a 10.5” shrouded and silenced barrel, shooting .22 caliber pellets, can fit into your rucksack and is made right here in the United States of America! Go ahead and give it a big thumbs up for the American Air Arms Evol .22 Mini!

Features… Building off of what was stated at the start of the video the EVOL .22 Mini also has an ambidextrous safety (probably one of the best feeling and accessible safeties on the market), the grip is AR15 compatible, smooth heavy duty side lever cocking arm with the biathlon style handle, 11 shot machined aluminum magazine, picatinny rail that runs the length of the cylinder, 50 MOA is machined into the scope rail and a tensioned barrel system. Beyond these features there are those that can not be seen that help to make this a top of the line setup right out of the box. All American Air Arms airguns are made one at a time in the factory, they insist that the barrel be pre polished at the factory and then the included moderator; well if we take a look inside there is a conical air stripper built right into the baffles.

For those just learning airgun technology, an air stripper takes the turbulent air surrounding the pellet as it leaves the barrel and helps to strip it away. Thus, giving the projectile clean smooth air to travel through thereby increasing accuracy.

These features are of course all good, but if the trigger stinks and you pull your shots mis judge the breakpoint then your accuracy will go to hell and being such a built tuff style of airgun, how could the EVOL have a delicate crisp trigger? Well the trigger pack is completely adjustable, solid build and comes from the factory measuring 8-10 oz of pull. This particular EVOL Mini came to me with an average pull of just 5.1 oz on five trials and beating the factory standards. Putting it up there with one of the best mechanical triggers I have tried out of the box. The crazy part is just how solid the trigger feels in the hand without sacrificing feel for the first stage or the second stage of the pull.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s take a look at both the shot count in this .22 and if the factory regulator is any good. Testing the EVOL MINI, I was able to get 44 shots or 4 magazines on a fill, but the best consistency came with the first three magazines. As we look over the graph, you will notice good shot to shot consistency throughout the shot string. Shooting 18.33 grain JSB pellets at an average of 852 feet per second and over 29 foot pounds of energy.

Interesting to note that while I was at the range I had the best accuracy starting around 3500 psi fill. This air cylinder holds 135 cc of air and tops off at 4000 psi! Nice little hunting platform for sure.
