In the early 2000s, the city of #Richmond #Virginia removed the tent covering from the historic 17th Street Market. This market was full of thriving #Blackowned #Family Businesses. The city later, put trees and other items, where the market had been, and forced the families to relocate, decimating the market, and crippling these decades long family businesses.
