Sports Illustrated's new model for the 2023 Swimsuit issue is surprising on two fronts. First, she's fit, which is a departure, and secondly, she's 40. Melissa Wood-Tepperberg is an attractive woman... for a 40 year old. It's impressive that she's in such great shape, but it's not SI Swimsuit (in the traditional sense) worthy. Congrats on the gig, but it's not because she deserves it, it's because it checks the requisite number of boxes.

Marketers know who has the purchasing power. Women make most of the spending decisions in the family and when they are single. The Male dollar is secured; they will spend on things to attract women regardless of advertisements. But the advertisers are now spotting the trends that are downstream from society.

Morgan Stanley did a study that explained quite a few phenomenons in society. Women are spending more, a disproportionate amount and that number is growing. Women are also staying single for a lot longer. Women are carrying a lion's share of the consumer debt. So how can big business capitalize? Bring in the SHEconomy!
