The History of Lebanon

Western Asia's Lebanon, also known as the Lebanese Republic, is an autonomous country. In light of this, a few of the most significant occasions in Lebanon's history will be briefly covered in this video.

Lebanon in antiquity and classical antiquity.
Byblos was the site of early civilization in the nation's history. This is thought to be one of the oldest cities in the world that has been inhabited continuously.

The region became a part of the Seleucid Empire after Alexander the Great's demise.

Christianity was brought to the nation from the nearby Galilee in the first century. Along with Syria and much of Antonia, Lebanon developed as a significant center of Christianity. In the fourth century, it was subsequently incorporated into the Christian Byzantine Empire .

The Middle Ages.
In the seventh century, Muslim Arabs conquered Syria and installed a new government to replace the Romans.
The French Mandate and Ottoman Lebanon.
Lebanon was divided into a variety of provinces at this time, including Tripoli, Northern and Southern Lebanon, Jabal Amel, Baalbek, and the Beqaa Valley.

Civil War in Lebanon.

The rising sectarian strife led to the start of a civil war in Lebanon in 1975. A coalition of Christian organizations battled the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), Muslim militias, and left-leaning Druze during the civil war.
