Rep Good focused the majority of his time on explaining the process that he and other members of the freedom caucus engaged in earlier this month during the Speaker of the House selection vote. He went into some detail about the rules package that was negotiated with Kevin McCarthy as well as the significance of changes in the “vacate the chair” option. He explained that the Freedom Caucus now has leverage over McCarthy and how this will impact future legislation, committee appointments and spending decisions in the House. He explained why the process had to play out the way it did and that, although it looked like chaos and drama, it’s actually how our government is supposed to function. Rep Good is a refreshing voice in politics and he isn’t afraid of what people think. He works for We the People, not for the government .
