Rose Van Dover Finds Westerly RI Schools Coddling Students Contrary To Building Character For Successful Living

Rose Van Dover found disgust over some school committee members mocking and laughing at public comment by Bob Chiaradio. Regardless if the accusations in Superintendent Garceau’s contract are to be found true, she believes it’s disrespectful to minimize any public content.

She gives personal details of coming from the poorest of the poorest neighborhood in Hartford, Connecticut and finding the intestinal fortitude to climb out of poverty and excel in life. In a family of 11 children, all became successful without a college degree.
She finds that the school system coddles students and prevents them from experiencing reality to build character and the desire to become successful on their own.

The push to get students in college removes them from the lay sector that supports the basic needs of the community.
