At least one dead in Basra stadium stampede

At least one person was killed and dozens were injured in a stampede near the Basra International Stadium, as thousands of soccer fans tried to enter on Thursday (January 19), Iraq's state news agency reported. Video showed soccer fans attempted to get in by jumping over a wall as people crowded the surroundings of the stadium ahead of the game.
