Messi and PSG train in Qatar ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo's Saudi IX exhibition game

Paris Saint-Germain trained in Doha on Wednesday, on the eve of their eagerly-awaited exhibition match against a combined XI of Saudi Arabian teams Al Nassr and Al Hilal in Riyadh.

Lionel Messi is back in the country where he won the World Cup with Argentina in December and will line up alongside teammates Kylian Mbappe, who had to settle for a runners-up medal in the final, and Brazilian superstar Neymar.

The opposition will be led by Messi's old La Liga rival Cristiano Ronaldo, who will make his first appearance in Saudi Arabia after signing a deal worth a reported US$ 200 million a year to join Al Nassr.

PSG head coach Christophe Galtier said his squad are looking forward to the game and with all the talent on show, it will be a spectacle for the supporters.

"Obviously these players have the most titles in the world, I think there are 12 Ballons d'Or." he said of Messi and Ronaldo. "It is good for international football, for football too. I think tomorrow it will be with the fans, it is not a friendly match, it is not a training match, so many personalities and competitors on the field. It will be a good game at a high level."

Ronaldo has served a two-match suspension issued by the English Football Association for slapping a mobile 'phone out of the hand of a fan after a match between Manchester United and Everton last April.

His debut for Saudi league leaders Al Nassr is scheduled for Sunday against Ettifaq.
