Acceptance.
On our jobs, in school, in sports, in relationships, in families, etc
WE WANT TO BE WANTED.
WE WANT TO BE CHOSEN.
And it hurts when we're not.
Rejection and the fear of it can cause us to do and say things we wouldn't ordinarily do. The desire to fit in is powerful and can really mess us up when we're denied.
