In Tales of Glory, episode 55, we dive into the Interior Castle Sixth Mansions Chapter 1 - Part 2. Part 2 continues in the Six Mansions and Saint Teresa's prayer of betrothal. We learn from Saint Teresa how to deal with spiritual trials from infirmities (sickness) and dealing with inexperienced and troublesome spiritual directors.
Here the soul yearns for the spiritual marriage with the indwelling Jesus Christ but is not fully ready for this stage in the spiritual journey. The road to the prayer with spiritual betrothal (engagement) is filled with trials from God to help shape it. She explains the trials of pride and offense the soul will encounter as it moves through this mystical stage of prayer.
