There have been equitable and egalitarian societies but they are not long tolerated by those who fancy themselves the ruling class. Feudalism it seems is the preferred form of structure for those who consolidate power and exert control. History tends to repeat itself in cycles. Those cycles need not be as lengthy or devastating if we learn from past mistakes by taking copious notes and applying what we learn. Leaders must be the keepers of the foundational narratives when those with less than noble motives begin to reshape the narrative for their own ends.” J Loren Norris
