Insight Ep.31 Mandates Class Action with Spiros

Spiros has spent the last year helping to defend clients who were charged during lockdowns and protests. What he thought would be a few cases, turned into a 'tsunami'. This led him to consider class actions, with the first one based on the financial damages suffered due to the mandates and lockdowns. Spiros thought that if he was going to run his own case, he might as well help countless others. This means that anyone who would like to join his case can do so.
The entity being sued will be the relevant Government Department in each State that was responsible for the mandates. In Victoria, this will be the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
The Court will be the Supreme Court. Spiros has recently had a 'win' in VCAT against Brett Sutton. However, the Authority refused to rule and stated that they had no jurisdiction to hear the matter and that Spiros had to file in the Supreme Court.
Spiros believes he has all the evidence to achieve a 'win' and would not pursue if he had any doubt about winning.
Anybody who has been affected by the mandates and suffered financial loss from the mandates is eligible to join. Each applicant would have to provide a short description of their loss and assign a dollar figure he/she wishes to claim.
Spiros will be filing on the 1st of February 2023, applicants can still join the Class Action while it is in progress. This date only means the Case will be 'in the system' awaiting trial. The Case could take a year or longer.

We will also have Sharlene from the class actions admin team joining us.
