1.17.23 | No Shirt, No Shoes, No Woke, No Service: Viewpoint Discrimination in Virginia Unlisted Video

“Even as the U.S. Congress eagerly passed the “(dis)Respect for Marriage” Act during the Lame Duck session, the Virginia Family Foundation experienced a foretaste of what supporters of the soon-to-be law said wouldn’t happen: religious viewpoint discrimination. On Nov. 30, Metzger Bar and Butchery in Richmond, Virginia decided to deny food service to Virginia Family Foundation 90 minutes before it’s fundraiser was to occur. The reason? VFF is unapologetically prolife and pro-biblical marriage. The restaurant owners said in tweet, "In eight years of service we have very rarely refused service to anyone who wished to dine with us. … We respect our staff’s established rights as humans and strive to create a work environment where they can do their jobs with dignity, comfort, and safety," the restaurant said. Will we see more of this type of viewpoint discrimination when the RFMA becomes law? If so, what recourse do CEA members have? VFF’s own Victoria Cobb will join us to discuss.”
