"The 48 Laws of Power" is a non-fiction book written by Robert Greene and first published in 1998. The book presents a guide to the strategies of power and manipulation in personal and political situations. It uses historical figures and events to illustrate each of the 48 laws, and provides advice on how to apply these laws in order to gain and maintain power. The book is divided into chapters, each dedicated to one of the 48 laws and has a "Violation of the Law" that would be a poor strategy. This book is a New York Times Bestseller, is a international bestseller with over 1.2 million copies sold, and has been translated into 24 languages.
