Stocks are lower ahead of the opening bell today as the world awaits a monetary policy decision from the Bank of Japan (BOJ) later this week. The BOJ's ultra-dovish yield curve control policy has become increasingly difficult for the central bank to maintain, requiring increasingly larger purchases of Japanese Government Bonds to maintain the 10 year JGB peg at 0.5%. A reversal of this policy could come as early as Wednesday causing dislocations across global debt markets.
