CDC Holding A Closed-Door Meeting to Discuss a Tool to Determine 'Vaccine Misinformation'

Meeting scheduled for March 7th, 2023

“The meeting will be closed to the public in accordance with the provisions set forth in sections 552b(c)(4) and 552b(c)(6), Title 5 U.S.C.,” explains the announcement before also attributing the confidentiality of the meeting to decisions by the Director of the Strategic Business Initiatives Unit within the Office of the Chief Operating Officer of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

The meeting appears to address three primary topics, including “developing a public health tool to predict the virality of vaccine misinformation narratives.”

No further clarification of what constitutes “misinformation” was provided.
