London System | Getting a "Positional Advantage" Against the Modern Defense

Hello everyone, it's been a couple of days since I posted! I'll explain why in the video. In this game we see the opening that used to scare me until I studied it... the Modern Defense. Now it's helping me to understand what people mean by "positional advantage" in chess -- equal material, no immediate tactics, but a position on the chess board where your opponent becomes more likely to make a mistake. At least that's how I think of it. So for example when you set up some pins, create some batteries, put your knight in a good spot... there isn't an immediate tactic available, but it's like creating a minefield for your opponent. If they forget about the knight, they step into a fork. If they forget about the battery, they get battered.

Am I right about this? Let me know in the comments what you think when you hear "positional advantage" in chess.

I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you next time.
