My new pour medium: homemade

Roughly: 1 part xanthan gum to 1 part arabic gum powder in filtered water. Distilled is ok .
I add 1/4 oz clove oil to a gallon mix (+or-) 1/2 oz propylene glycol per gallon (+or-), 1/4 oz glycerin (+or-),

( optional pouring medium of your choice mixed in . )

Roughly 12 oz per gallon of my mix)

Mix with drill keep in frig. It’s important to get all the dry lumps out of my premix prior to mixing in paint color. Use a strainer. ( I scrub the strained mix with a brush to help get it through the strainer.)

PS don’t use a blender.

PS you don’t really need all the extra chemicals that I use.

Add Some more xanthan gum and Arabic gum if needed to thicken or water to thin it .

Put in enough water in so the flow meet your requirements you don’t have to overwater at first . Then store in the fridge for longer lasting.

You can add water at a later time when you’re ready to use.

Once you use it , you’ll see that the pour is wet and goopy, Once you finish , set-aside, and the goop will disappear in about 24 to 48 hours . Keep the pour laying down flat.

Ps : I even use watercolor paint in my mix . Just pre strain the watercolor paint in a little water and a small screen strainer. Then put in my mix.

I make batches if two gallons. Roughly 7 qts of my mix to 1 qt of mixed in regular pour medium. I use a blend of
1. School glue
2. Gac-800
3. Liquid Tex pour medium
4. Artist loft pour medium
5. Flotrol
6. Propylene glycol
7. Glycerin
8. Gloss or Matt acrylic medium .
These are optional use some or mix them or omit. But they do assist to bond my mix to the canvas.

Ps before you add pour medium you can use my mix with watercolor paintings as a watercolor medium on paper .
