So straight out of the box i was writing songs and during my songwriting in Atomkraft (Heavy Metal) i had began to write more 1960s influenced songs.. my favourite era of music, this was at odds with me being in a metal group which was one of the reasons why i left that band in 1989. The songs here are i think 1989.. i'm recording them into a tape recorder (pictured).. the exact model from the 1980's. I would be around 18 years old when i began collecting songs i was writing onto tape cassette singing melodies and playing acoustic guitar, this was like going back ten years earlier before i had started learning electric guitar and getting into the rock stuff. The songs here are only five songs of i dont know maybe a few hundred? that i have on tape cassettes recorded from 88-92, these songs are basically capturing song ideas of melody before they would be taken to a band, and then the lyrics would be worked out properly later, i have always been a melody man first when writing.. never lyrics first. I think these songs are all good in their own right capturing a little time capsule of music and i will upload them as they are! into the future, but some i will go back to and record with backing tracks or even a future band. The reason why these hundreds of songs never got past the cassette demo stage was because their was always so many songs pouring out of my head that even i could'nt keep track of them, so usually songs that ended up being done by the band "the shapes" would just simply be the song that id written that previous day.. then taken to the band at rehearsals. My prolific songwriting creative brain is unusual i know that, it was sort of a handicap too, exausting really. I learned over the years to simply switch off my creativity like turning off a tap of water (the flow of water being the flow of music/creativity) i still do this now today. If i lived for a thousand years i could still write hundreds of songs a year, all original and never the same song twice.
